Franco Fontana

          Franco Fontana is a photographer influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism. This style was formed in the late 1960s. Focusing on form and color, this style was distinct from the classic black-and-white art photography that was popular at the time. His work is in more than 50 museums worldwide, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, the Ludwig Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.      His work is flat and abstract, as in the photo at the top. There are a few things I learned about his photographs after looking at a few of them. First, he incorporates straight lines. Many of these are horizons or the edges of buildings.
